A wide range of eco solvent printers

Mutoh's eco solvent printer range - the Blizzard Eco, Spitfire 100 Extreme Eco, Rockhopper 3 Extreme and ValueJet family - offers signmakers the outdoor benefits of solvent inks, yet making it possible to use the printers in a regular office environment.
 

Mutoh's eco-solvent ink concept

Mutoh's Eco-Solvent Ultra inks, specifically engineered for the Mutoh Rockhopper print heads, make it possible to print directly onto a wide selection of low-cost uncoated PVC and banner media.

Early 2002, Mutoh was the first to come to market with its eco-solvent ink concept. The first generation of eco-solvent inks was offered in combination with specifically coated media. In August 2003, Mutoh’s Eco ink concept boosted with the release of the Eco-Solvent Plus inks, the second generation eco inks, since these were the first environmentally-friendly light solvent inks on the market to offer direct compatibility with a wide range of uncoated substrates. As such, Mutoh proved that there was an alternative for aggressive solvent inks to print onto uncoated materials.

 

Moreover, Eco-Solvent (Plus) inks are the first light solvent inks on the market not spreading any harmful VOCs (volatile organic components) in the working environment, therefore being a true environmentally-friendly light solvent ink.

Eco-Solvent Ultra Ink

The 3rd generation Eco-Solvent inks, called Eco-Solvent Ultra, have been specifically developed for the Rockhopper piezo print heads. At a cost of more than 20 % below the Mutoh Eco-Solvent Plus ink, Eco-Solvent Ultra inks offer the same benefits as Eco-Solvent Plus inks, yet adding several enhancements, such as a higher colour gamut, faster drying time, improved ink fixation, improved scratch resistance, higher print speed on uncoated self-adhesive PVC and a wider media compatibility (i.e. printing on media with clay coated backing becomes possible).

Eco-Solvent Ultra prints are UV- and water-resistant for up to three years. Lamination is required for heavy-duty applications such as floor and vehicle graphics.

Blizzard Eco/Spitfire 100 Extreme Eco/Rockhopper 3 Extreme/ValueJet application possibilities encompass indoor and outdoor poster printing : banners and signage, seasonal and long-term corporate graphics, long-term backlit signage, building and construction announcements, vehicle graphics, durable indoor graphics, POS displays.

Mutoh's Blizzard Eco, Rockhopper and ValueJet family consists of 9 different models, ranging from the ValueJet 1204 4-colour printer for small volumes up to the Blizzard Eco 90" eight channel production-oriented printer. Eco-Solvent Ultra printers are already profitable for print volume between 500 - 3000 m² / year.

Blizzard Eco/Spitfire 100 Extreme Eco/Rockhopper 3 Extreme/ValueJet printers are also perfectly fit for the production of full colour stickers which can be later contour-cut with Mutoh's Kona cutting plotter.
